Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Saga is a private journaling and reflection app designed to help users document their lives, track personal patterns, and generate reflections over time.
We believe privacy is fundamental to journaling. This policy explains what information Saga collects, how it is used, and how we work to protect it.
Your Data and Privacy
Your journal entries and tracked data are encrypted and tied to your account credentials.
Journal entries and tracked data remain encrypted while stored by Saga. Saga personnel cannot access, read, or manually review the contents of user journals or personal tracking data. Certain AI-powered features require relevant journal content to be processed temporarily in order to generate reflections, patterns, stories, and other personalized insights.
Users also maintain control over their journal history through export functionality, allowing them to export and retain copies of their personal data at any time.
Information We Collect
Saga may collect limited account and operational information necessary to provide the service, including:
- Email address and authentication information
- Basic account metadata
- Technical and diagnostic information required to operate and improve the app
Encrypted journal entries, reflections, and tracked personal data remain inaccessible to Saga outside of authenticated user access and temporary AI processing required for certain features.
AI-Generated Reflections and Patterns
Saga uses AI systems to generate features such as:
- Reflections
- Patterns
- Sleep Stories
- Other personalized insights
To generate these features, relevant journal or tracking content may be securely processed temporarily by AI systems after user authentication.
Before AI processing occurs, Saga detaches journal and tracking content from personal account identifiers. AI processing requests use anonymized identifiers rather than direct user identity information such as names or email addresses.
Users should be aware that journal content submitted for AI-powered features may include information they choose to record within their journals.
Saga does not sell user journal content or personal data.
Security
Saga is designed with privacy and security in mind.
We use encryption, secure infrastructure, and authentication systems to help protect user information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
Saga may also use trusted-device verification and one-time passcodes to help prevent unauthorized account access.
However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Data Ownership
Users retain ownership of their journal content and personal data.
Saga does not claim ownership over user-created content.
Account Deletion
Users may request deletion of their account and associated data by contacting support.
Some limited backup or technical data may persist temporarily before being removed through routine system processes.
Third-Party Services
Saga may rely on trusted third-party providers for:
- Authentication
- Cloud hosting
- File storage
- Email delivery
- Analytics
- AI processing
These providers may process limited information necessary for the app to function.
Children's Privacy
Saga is not intended for children under 13 years of age.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated over time as Saga evolves.
Continued use of Saga after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
